Meet the Band

Chris King: Lead Vocals
Chris King has been the lead singer since the inception of the band, takes care of the bookings, and the checks. He has won several awards as Colorado country entertainer of the year with the Colorado Country Music Hall of fame, and always has an excellent group of musicians by his side.
-

Jeff Lawrence: Keyboard
Jeff was born into a musical family, so singing in the choir and piano lessons were just part of the scene. Jeff learned to play clarinet, and picked up his sister's guitar and started playing in high school bands. Jeff got a B.A. degree in English, and studied music as well. After college, Jeff started going on the road and never stop traveling and performing. Jeff worked for the USO organization and spent time on cruise ships. Ask Jeff about someplace, and he's probably been there!

Charlie Provenza: Guitar
A one time National Mandolin Champion and Six time Telluride Mandolin Contest Winner, Charlie has performed with the Aspen Music Festival, The Colorado Symphony, the Wild Jimbos and his own groups. Featured Author in Mel Bays Publications Mandolin 2000 and Winfield Winners.
-

Jim Nielsen: Drums
Jim began drumming at the age of 12, and spent his school years playing in the gamut of band, jazz band, show choir, symphony, and other musical groups. His quest for variety carried into adulthood, as he joined various bands playing jazz, swing, classic rock, heavy metal, and country music. No matter the style of music, Jim loves an audience that enjoys the music as much as he does. And, as a drummer, he is forever on a quest to find the next, new drum set with the perfect tone to play for his audience.

Dan Lichtenwalter: Bass Guitar
Denver native, bassist and fledgling keyboard player, Dan Lichtenwalter is one of the newest members of the Chris King Band. He has had the opportunity to participate with several bands over the past 40 years performing events at the Denver Peoples Fair and Black Art Festivals, various Bluegrass Festivals, local music venues, and is an active member in his church’s music team. Listening to and playing country dance music has quickly become one of his favorite genres of musical enjoyment. Dan gets a kick out of watching people have a good time at our events, loves root beer floats, and is still on the hunt for the perfect crispy chili relleno.
